Ian Burman is the Head of the Philanthropy Team at Laytons ETL. The founder and former head of the Private Client Team and Managing Partner of Laytons between 2016 and 2020 he now concentrates on the not for profit sector. A regular writer lecturer and broadcaster he is well known in his field. A former Chair of the London Central Branch of the Society of Estate and Trust Practitioners and a Member of the Charity Law Association, Ian has immense experience over a 35 year career.
Ian is the Trustee/Director of a vast number of charities and not for profit organisations, across a number of disciplines but it particularly recognised for his work with vulnerable persons, in the field of medical research and with a variety of environmental causes, both within the UK and internationally.
Ian and fellow Trustee Peter Raines first worked together 30 years ago when Peter was a Director of Coral Cay Conservation and Ian spent an exceptionally pleasant week in Belize negotiating on behalf of Coral Cay with the Government of Belize and University College Belize to build a marine research station before spending 4 days scuba diving in one of the most amazing aquatic locations on the planet.
